About LaFayette, GA - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

The city of LaFayette is located in Walker County, Georgia approximately two hours north of Atlanta and thirty minutes south of Chattanooga, Tennessee.  Named in honor of French nobleman Marquis de LaFayette and incorporated on September 30, 1885, LaFayette is the county seat of Walker County and home to a population of approximately 7,000 residents who enjoy the city’s humid subtropical climate that brings hot, humid summers and mild, cool winters to the area.

Rich in Native American and Civil War history, the city of LaFayette boasts a number of significant historic sites, many of which are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  Sites of note include the Walker County Courthouse, circa 1918, and the historic Marsh House, circa 1836, both located in LaFayette’s downtown historic district.  The circa 1836 Chattooga Academy, Georgia’s oldest standing brick schoolhouse, served as General Braxton Bragg’s headquarters during the Civil War.  Also of interest and a favorite with history buffs is the Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park, the nation’s oldest and largest Civil War Park.  Located just fifteen minutes north of the city, the park houses the Civil War sites of the Battle of Chickamauga and the Chattanooga Campaign.

There are numerous opportunities for outdoor recreation and leisure in and around the city of LaFayette.  The Queen City Lake reservoir is open for fishing year-round and features an abundance of bass, crappie, bream, and channel catfish.  Located within a thirty-minute drive of the city, Lake Marvin, Johns Creek, and the lakes of J. H. Floyd State Park are prime fishing locations, as well.

With a cost of living index at 15.40% lower than the national average, low crime and unemployment rates, positive recent job growth, pleasant climate, friendly citizens, and convenient proximity to the big city amenities of the city of Chattanooga, it is no wonder that LaFayette is a favorite with residents and visitors alike!
