About Ringgold, GA - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

The city of Ringgold is located in Catoosa County, Georgia approximately one hour and forty-five minutes north of Atlanta and twenty-five minutes south of Chattanooga, Tennessee.  Named for Samuel Ringgold, a war hero of the Mexican-American War, Ringgold was incorporated as a city on December 18, 1847 and selected as the county seat of Catoosa County seven years later on March 16, 1854.  Today Ringgold is home to approximately 2,400 residents who enjoy the hot, humid summers, cool, moderate winters, and beautiful, mild weather during springtime and fall afforded by the city’s location within the humid subtropical climate zone of the U. S.

Rich in history and local lore, Ringgold is home to a number of important historical sites, including the circa 1858 Whitman Anderson House that served as headquarters for Union Army Generals William T. Sherman and Ulysses S. Grant during the Civil War, and the Ringgold Depot, circa 1849, one of Georgia’s few antebellum railroad depots that is now home to the Ringgold Opry, featuring gospel and bluegrass music the second weekend of every month.  The Old Stone Church, circa 1850, was used as a hospital during the Civil War for both Confederate and Union troops and now contains a museum that features a wealth of historical information and Civil War memorabilia, as well as exhibits containing Indian artifacts that include tomahawks, arrowheads, and pottery.  Also of interest is the Chickamauga-Chattanooga National Military Park, the nation’s first military park that houses the Lookout Mountain and Chickamauga battlefields from the Union's 1864 invasion of Georgia.

Opportunities for outdoor recreation and leisure abound in and around the city of Ringgold.  Located within the city, the Jack Mattox Recreation Complex features athletic fields, a walking track, and fishing pond, while just minutes from downtown, the Elsie A. Holmes Nature Park features hiking and biking trails, fishing, and picnicking facilities.

The city hosts a number of festivals and special events each year, including the 1890s Day Jamboree, held each May, that features a parade, beauty pageant, car show, music, food, arts and crafts, fiddling contests, and more; and the annual Patriotic Festival of Flags, held before and after Memorial and Veterans Days, that features approximately 860 flags flying throughout the city in honor of fallen Catoosa County veterans.

Charming and hospitable, Ringgold is the quintessence of a small southern town.  With its rich history, friendly citizens, and pleasant climate, it is a great place to live or visit anytime during the year!
